Welcome to San Raymundo Smiles!
Our journey started with a simple dream - to provide free dental care to children in the San Raymundo Guatemala area in a manner that they would receive if they were in the United States. Alongside our team of dedicated Christian dentists and healthcare professionals, we make this dream a reality every March.

Why San Raymundo?
Divine providence is the only thing we can fathom. Decades ago a doctor donated money to build the first floor of the hospital then along came the Texarkana Baptist Church’s years of investments in infrastructure. There are countless people who have paved the road before us that we now travel on. Choosing San Raymundo as our home base for the next few decades allows us to maximize our resources while doing the most good to increase human flourishing as much as possible. Having facilities that allow so much work to be accomplished in so little time is a blessing. We are also far enough outside of Guatemala City that the population is large enough and underserved enough to never run out of need.

STATEMENT OF FAITH
Our team comes from a variety of Christian traditions, but we unite around our commitment to the Bible as God’s word. We affirm the following core doctrines held in the Apostle’s Creed and the Nicene Creed:
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father. God from God, light from light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made.
Who, for us and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary and became truly human.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, on the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one universal and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look forward to the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
